Equipment you will need:
A juicer (Dr. Oz uses a blender, but mine leaves large chunks- so I'm a little skeptical that his photo is of a blender made drink...) Just make sure your juicer will juice veggies (they're often called 'juice extractors')
A large bowl or pitcher to mix the juices
Cups with lids for storage
Ingredients:
4 limes, peeled
2 lemons, peeled
1" fresh ginger root (trust me fresh tastes better)
16 oz spinach
2 heads of celery
2 bunches cilantro
Optional: I sometimes throw in sweet berries: strawberries, blackberries, blueberries etc. for extra sweetness.
*** Note the extra citrus covers up the 'grassy' taste so even my husband will drink it! ;) ***
Directions:
1. JUICE!
1.1 - I always start with the apples, so I can set aside the pulp for other recipes (coming soon!!!).
1.2 - Make sure that the peeling and pith is off the lemons and limes otherwise they will make your drink very VERY bitter!
1.3 - Be sure to dump the pulp when full so your motor doesn't stall or go out!
1.4 - Pay close attention to stringier veggies like the spinach and cilantro, they can clog up quick!
2. Pour evenly into cups and store in the fridge (my cups are old POM keepsake glasses with lids)
3. Enjoy!
